Easy Clubhouse was founded in 2005, in Taiwan, is a community organization supporting people experiencing mental disorientation. It is the first certified Clubhouse in Taiwan. Workers and the people experiencing mental disorientation work together, from daily cooking to strategic planning. We learn from and appreciate each other in real life. Relationships begin with a friendly greeting, and are nurtured by operating the facility through partnership, joining in community events, and developing deep friendships. Unlike the professional doctrine of social work, we replace “assessment ” with “understanding” and “treatment” with “support” . Instead of stressing the professional boundary between practitioner and client, we develop alternative relationships that create an effective environment for reviving people. People can only change when they have real life relationships. Once they gain the strength, they can see/face themselves, pursue their individual development and connect with the society.
